Można by rzecz, że po przeczytaniu ,,Euphorii" myślałam, że już nic mnie nie zaskoczy. W jakim ja byłam błędzie. Potwierdza się fakt, że Japonia to stan umysłu, ale nie jestem pewna, czy zdrowego.

could shock me. Oh how wrong I was. It is another confirmation that
Japan is a state of mind, its healthiness a thing I often question.

Skończywszy czytać ,,Zombie no Afureta Sekai de Ore Dake ga Osowarenai", bo taka jest pełna nazwa tej produkcji (z ang. I am the only one who is not attacked in the world filled with zombies) jestem zaskoczona jakością oraz napięciem jakie utrzymała. Zacznijmy jednak od początku.
ENG: After reading ,,Zombie no Afureta Sekai de Ore Dake ga Osowarenai" which is a full title of this novel (its english translation: I am the only one who is not attacked in the world filled with zombies), I am thoroughly surprised by its quality and suspense it managed to maintain. Lets start from the beginning though.
PL: Na IWAZ (,,I walk among zombies") natknęłam się przypadkiem podczas rozmowy z moim partnerem. Śmialiśmy się z przydługiego tytułu, opisu na vndb oraz tego, że w dodatku jest to eroge (18+). Wiecie, eroge i zombie. Moje skojarzenia były tak komiczne, że nie wierzyłam, iż ktoś mógł coś takiego wykombinować. I to ten mój prześmiewczy odbiór był impulsem, aby zmierzyć się z tym tytułem i móc zobaczyć nieskończoną ilość absurdów.

We laughed at the overly long title, the description on the VNDB site and the fact that considering its content, it is an eroge (18+). You know, eroge and zombies. What came to my mind was so comical that I did not believe that someone could came up with such combination. That was the main reason that motivated me to pick it up and in result, experience a plethora of absurdities.

Jest to podstudio Sekai Project (znane m.in. z serii Grisaia) zajmujące się wydaniami 18+. Translacja wydaje się być wysokiej jakości. Słownictwo, jak i język, którym posługują się bohaterowie nie są skomplikowane, także nie będziecie potrzebować słowników głowiąc się nad różnymi zaawansowanymi zagadnieniami, o których nawet nie mieliście pojęcia.

Historia opowiada o Takemura Yuusuke. Nasz protagonista, nie wiedząc co robić po utracie pracy, zamyka się z padem w ręce w domu, efektywnie zamykając się na otaczającą go rzeczywistość. Parę dni później, kiedy nadszedł czas na wyjście z domu, zostaje zaatakowany i ugryziony przez tajemniczego mężczyznę. Wróciwszy szybko do mieszkania, wystraszony i totalnie zdezorientowany, opada na łóżko z powodu nagłej gorączki. Ocknąwszy się po kilku dniach zauważa, że coś jest nie tak. Obserwując okolicę i szukając informacji w sieci dochodzi do wniosku, że jego kraj z nieznanych przyczyn dopadła apokalipsa zombie. Poszukując ocalałych wśród sąsiadów orientuje się, że z dziwnych powodów żywe trupy nie zwracają na niego uwagi. Z tą wiedzą Yuusuke w końcu zaczyna czerpać przyjemność z życia w świecie, w którym nic mu nie zagraża i widzieć plusy zaistniałej sytuacji. Jednak spotkanie pewnej trójki ocalałych wprowadza jego plany na nowe tory.

Takemura Yuusuke. Not knowing what to do after being fired from his
job, our protagonist secluded himself in his apartment. With a trusty
gamepad as his only partner, he effectively shut himself off from
surrounding reality. Few days later, when the time to leave his house
finally came, a strange man attacked and bit our lead character.
After hastily running back in, in a state of utter confusion, he was
suddenly struck by a high fever and fainted on the spot. Several days
came to pass before he regained his consciousness, immediately
realizing that something was off. Looking around, searching the net
for information it was apparent that the country he knew was no more.
Apparently, a zombie apocalypse decimated Japan, seemingly out of
nowhere. Beginning the search for survivors in his neighbourhood, he
came to realize a crucial thing. For some reason, the living dead
completely ignored him. Feeling safe in the sea of deadly
monstrosities, Yuusuke started to see the benefits of his unique
circumstances and decided to enjoy his life to the fullest. However,
his plans changed their course, after meeting with, a barely holding
on, family of three siblings.

Grę czyta się całkiem nieźle. Z początku może trochę przynudzać. Nie pomaga fakt, że już na starcie atakują nas h-sceny. Same w sobie nie są one zbyt interesujące, aczkolwiek część z nich definiuję dynamikę relacji między głównymi postaciami.
ENG: Reading the novel proved to be quite an enjoyable affair. It tends to be on the boring side at the start, which is only exacerbated by the abundance of early h-scenes. In and of themselves, those scenes are rather bland, although some of them play a big part in establishing a dynamic of relationship between our main characters.

Warto również dodać, że ten vn to kinetic novel. Mamy więc jedną oś fabularną, bez możliwości jakiegokolwiek wyboru. VNDB szacuje czas czytania tytułu na 2-10h. Osobiście, skończyłam go po jakichś pięciu. Oprócz tego, aby poznać dalsze losy bohaterów należy sięgnąć po następne części. Niestety na dzień dzisiejszy przetłumaczone zostały tylko dwie z czterech.

Po pierwszej godzinie czytania miałam mieszane uczucia, ze względu na sceny erotyczne, powolny rozwój sytuacji jak i egoistyczne, drażniące zachowania protagonisty. Jednak z czasem wszystko zaczęło nabierać pewnego kształtu. Sama nie zorientowałam się, kiedy przedstawiana historia zaczęła mnie interesować. Naprawdę nie oczekiwałam wiele po tym vnie i myślałam, że jedyne, co będzie mi serwował to survival wśród zombie i bzykanie lasek. Po części trochę tak jest. Mimo wszystko, całość została naprawdę dobrze poprowadzona, a fabuła staje się nie tak oczywista jak mogłoby się wydawać.

Kolejnym plusem są bohaterowie. Z początku strasznie nie lubiłam Yuusuke, jednakże okazał się być dobrze napisaną postacią. Nie jest typowym biurowym przegrywem. Znikąd nie dostaje magicznych mocy, ulegając przy tym totalnej przemianie w super bossa. Nie jest ciamajdą, która na widok dziewczyny doświadcza nosebleeda. Ma swoje cele, spełnia marzenia (w końcu to eroge ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)), dodatkowo wykazuje się sprytem i przebiegłością. Jest bardzo pragmatyczny, przy czym momentami zakrawa o zachowania typowego socjopaty. Unikalna sytuacja w której się znajduje otwiera przed nim wiele nieetycznych możliwości, których nie zawaha się nadużyć. To naprawdę ciekawie zaprezentowana rola, niejednoznaczna moralnie. Aż prosi się, aby pod tym względem było więcej takich postaci w vnach czy chociażby anime.
ENG: Characters are another strong point here. Even though I despised Yuusuke in the beginning, he turned out to be a well written protagonist. He is not your typical, boring looser. There are no magical powers granted to him out of nowhere that would artificially elevate him to a badass status. He is not some dweeb, experiencing uncontrollable nosebleeds at the mere sight of a woman. He chases his goals, realizes his dreams (it is an eroge after all ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)), all the while exhibiting a clear cleverness and cunningness. Pragmatism is his style, sometimes in a form as uncompromising as to liken him to a typical sociopath. The unique circumstance he finds himself in opens before him a plethora of unethical opportunities, which he will abuse without a second thought. It is a really interesting, well presented, morally ambiguous character. The visual novels and even anime are crying out for more of those characteristics in their casts.

Jedną z głównych bohaterek jest również Mitsuki. Jest ona delikatną dziewczyną, wychowaną w dobrym domu, wśród kochającej rodziny. Po zaistniałej na świecie nagłej, trudnej sytuacji, stara nieudolnie mierzyć się z tym, co ją otacza. Na swej drodze spotyka zaradnego Yuusuke widząc w nim wybawienie ze swojego krytycznego położenia. Tak właśnie zaczyna się ich historia.
[SPOILER] Niestety, pojawia się w niej zamiłowane przez Japończyków zjawisko syndromu sztokholmskiego. Łatwo się zatem domyślić w jakim kierunku zmierza ich relacja. [/SPOILER]ENG: Lets talk about our main heroine, Mitsuki. She is a delicate girl, clearly brought up in a good home among a loving family. After being thrown into this world-wide madness, she is trying her best to survive… without much success. By accident, she came across a resourceful Yuusuke, naturally seeing in him a long awaited chance of salvation. That is how their story begins.

Unfortunately, it devolves into a fairly regular stockholm syndrome
case, a motive beloved by the Japanese. It is therefore rather easy
to imagine how their relationship progresses. [/SPOILER]

Od strony wizualnej I walk among zombies dobrze się broni. Mamy tutaj ładne tła, a same projekty postaci wyglądają bardzo schludnie. Niektóre arty są wyborne. Kadr powyżej po prostu skradł moje serce, a pani na górze, po lewej, dałabym się zjeść :v Sceny, w których pojawiają się zombie są mocno nasycone, podkreślając przy tym wszechobecną złowrogość. Natomiast zwykła codzienność cechuje się stonowanymi kolorami, nadając całości lekkiego wydźwięku.

Czymże byłby vn bez dodatków? Oczywiście po przeczytaniu wszystkiego mamy dostęp do galerii, w której możemy oglądać zdjęcia z aktów seksualnych, powrócić jeszcze raz do ich przeczytania, jak i przesłuchać OSTa, którego, szczerze powiedziawszy, nawet nie zapamiętałam. Widocznie moje ucho nie zarejestrowało niczego nadzwyczajnego, gdyż zazwyczaj bardzo zwracam uwagę na tego typu rzeczy. I cóż, w zasadzie to tyle.

Podsumowując:
PL: ,,I walk among zombies" to kolejne eroge, które mnie pozytywnie zaskoczyło. Mamy tutaj naprawdę ciekawą historię. Jej rozwinięcie jak i dalsze losy bohaterów naprawdę mi się podobały. Pod względem fabularnym nie jest to typowy, sztampowy tytuł, w którym pierwsze skrzypce grają sceny erotyczne. Nie czułam też, aby całość skierowana była tylko do męskiej widowni, choć mogę się mylić. Mi, jako kobiecie, równie dobrze się czytało, lecz przyznam, że stosunki płciowe były tutaj przydługie i nudnawe. Rozumiem jednak ten koncept jak i sam gatunek, eroge to eroge, i musi rządzić się swoimi prawami. Pomimo tego uważam, iż warto zapoznać się z vnem, dla chociażby tych cudownych artów, o których wcześniej już wspominałam, jak i interesujących zwrotów akcji. I trochę mi wstyd, że tak prześmiewczo podeszłam do tej produkcji, gdyż wcale nie okazała się taka zła, jak mogłoby się z początku wydawać. Ostatecznie, fajerwerków nie było, ale gównem nie śmierdziało.

“I
walk among zombies” proved to be an another eroge that positively
surprised me. It provides us with an interesting story. Its unfolding
riveting, I was watching the fates of our characters with great
interest. Plot-wise, it is not a typical, cliched excuse of a story
that only serves a purpose of filling the time between erotic scenes.
I also did not feel like this novel was aimed purely at the male
audience, but it might just be my opinion. As a woman, I had a good
time reading, but, I must admit that the h-scenes were rather long
and bland. Of course I understand that the concept and the genre is
self-explanatory. Eroge in an eroge after all. Still, I believe that
this VN is worth looking at, if only for those few amazing arts
mentioned earlier, as well as some interesting turns of events. I am
a little embarrassed for judging a book by its cover, treating this
title as something that can not be anything more than terrible. It
truly is not as bad as it might seem. In conclusion, no fireworks,
but no dung stench as well.
